This study programme is for students who want to learn about the many possibilities of biotechnology, such as the development of medicine, research in the development of biofuel, the production of beer as well as dairy products, the handling of GMO (genetically modified organism) and the treatment of diseases. How a DNA molecule is put together, how substances are constructed and decomposed as well as how the endocrine system functions is taught through a collaboration with chemistry.

This study programme focuses on topics that are in demand at research institutions and in the health industry. Utilizing tools from the course History of Ideas, the students also learn about philosophical thoughtfulness and ethics in relation to the problems that biotechnology can solve as well as the problems biotechnology creates.
